News from Adrian Gonzales

http://i.esmas.com/image/0/000/005/549/AdrianGonzalez370x270.jpgIs Gonzalez doomed to fail? In his first eight seasons, Robin Roberts won 160 games, posting 20 or more wins six times. Nowhere! It’s all about sis boom bah; rah, rah, rah!

One very prominent national columnist wispily proclaimed relations between Jeter and the Yankees to be irrevocably damaged, predicting, “They will never again be the same,” An influential tabloid columnist angrily swiped at the Yankees for showering “indignities” on the darling shortstop.

All pronounced the Yankees ingrates. According to reports the Boston Red Sox have signed Carl Crawford to a 7-year/$142MM deal to add Crawford to probably the best outfield in Major League Baseball. The question is asked now though, is how their AL East rivals, the New York Yankees, will respond to the Carl Crawford signing.

The first step to the response would be the Yankees signing 32-year old free agent pitcher Cliff Lee this off-season. The Yanks were rumored at one time able to sign both Lee & Crawford this off-season. The move would clearly put the Yankees over their 2011 budget but it wouldn't surprise teams if the Yankees did that. That move could be more inevitable should the Yankees trade for Russell Martin in the off-season. Grienke is the Yankees biggest possibility while GM Brian Cashman can go in a completely different route and surprise all Baseball reporters & executives, much like the Red Sox did in signing Carl Crawford.

The Red Sox/Yankees rivalry could be the most intense, All-Star fielded teams, they have ever had.
